DONATION  APPLICATIONS

For applicants that do not have a history with the trust, or submitting a first time application, it is strongly advised they call the trust's administrator, Gae (027 226 1528) to discuss the appropriateness of their proposed application.

Individual applications are for individual applicants working with a supporting agency/service provider (who can submit the application on behalf of the individual) with a strong emphasis on working with families with children up to 21 years old (where there is financial hardship/disability and the parent/s have a CSC).

Along with the application please submit a supporting letter outlining the child's family/financial circumstances, the purpose of the grant and how it will benefit the child. Generally, it is expected that the funding requested is for the child’s personal growth i.e swimming lessons, dance lessons, sports subs, sports uniform, and will bring him or her enjoyment, initiate increased confidence and self-esteem etc.

Please note this excludes electronic equipment.

Applications for assistance to cover behavioral or learning assessments will also be considered however the parent needs to consent to the school receiving a copy of the assessment report.

An additional supporting letter from the child's school is also required for these applications.

If the cost is over $1000, an additional source of funding will be required.

Please ensure all applications are for future activities or events i.e no retrospective applications will be considered.

Please only email a quote or a screen shot of the activity costs with the application and supporting letter.

Please do not send invoices with the application.

The trust will organise the invoice in the trust's name if the application is approved.

If this is not practical i.e purchasing clothing/gear (i.e sports gear, not school uniforms), then the organisation overseeing the application will be paid the donation and receipt/s will need to be provided.

Organisation applications are for service providers in the disability sector. Organisations must be registered charities.

Donations are made throughout the year to a maximum of $1,000 per financial year.

AGM applications are for funding requests from service providers in the disability sector (also only registered charities) for more than $1,000. These applications are reviewed at the trust’s AGM in October/November.

The close off date for the AGM applications is the end of September each year although these applications can be submitted at any time.

Please note there can only be one application for an organisation (group or AGM) per financial year (Apr - Mar)

The trust is GST registered and our preferred payment option is directly to suppliers i.e swimming or dance club/schools.

Donations are for organisations operating independently in Canterbury & Westland.
